Our Story:

Hoopla Junk was always a dream in owner, Colleen Jensen's eyes. A seasonal vintage boutique was the goal before Hoopla Junk was ever named. In the early 2000's in Stillwater, Minnesota, Colleen started her passion of jewelry making. Transforming a room in her home into a personal art studio, the workshop was created. This passion transformed over the next decade from not just jewelry, but antiques, furniture refurbishing and all junk goodies.

After moving from Stillwater, Minnesota to Washington, Missouri in 2015, Colleen was ready to make her passion a reality.

The first official Hoopla Junk vintage store opened its doors in downtown Washington, Missouri in 2016. The shop was originally an old tool shop and was renovated into Hoopla Junk. Hoopla Junk sadly had to close in 2017 due to the Jensen family (family of Hoopla Junk,) deciding to move back home in Minnesota.

In 2017, the Jensen family purchased the historic Vasa Children's Home property near Red Wing, Minnesota. The Jensen family had lived and grown up in Minnesota all their lives and were excited to be back home.

On the property is an old barn dating back from the late 1800s. With their passion and vision, Colleen and Steve Jensen decided to open Hoopla Junk once again. In 2020, the renovations to the barn began. After months of blood, sweat and splinters, the barn transformed into the space that Hoopla Junk is today.
